CLUB DE GOLF SANT CUGAT
The course was originally constructed in 1917. British and American engineers were developing the electricity installations in the area and because of their golf interests, the company for which they worked decided to make the course. The designer Harry S. Colt was commissioned to develop a trail that became remarkably successful. If we compare it with the actual courses it is a short route, which doesn’t make it a less interesting courses its design has been developed integrating and respecting the natural relief of the terrain, adding greens and bunkers of great difficulty. It is a course that becomes a test to daring players, tempting them to reach the green in few holes and penalizing if there’s not a great coup. Currently this course consists of 21 holes and 18 Pitch & Putt.
GOLF MONTANYA
Placed in the Natural reserve of El Montseny. It offers the player the privilege of playing in a unique environment of great natural beauty, in a tour of 18 holes that runs between forest and humid zones where the player will have to make use of his five senses. Its designer, David Thomas was the manager of the project development back in 1989. The Clubhouse is an extremely beautiful country house from the 14th century and restored with absolute fidelity, it allows us to enjoy the majesty and traditional countryside of a typical Catalan construction and landscape. Its great cuisine is one of the special attractions that this fantastic Club offers.
REAL CLUB DE GOLF EL PRAT
Spectacular design in a wonderful estate, splashed with bunkers and soft slopes. In a noble, varied and entertaining course of 45 holes, for all the game levels. The greens are very complicated, with an area of demanding game but simultaneously grateful, that runs between open spaces and forest zones, with many greens placed in high places, highlighting the bunkers of white silica. Offering the possibility of combining five tours in which there is the obvious stamp of the designer Grec Norman. This course has been the location of different international professional championships.
VILALBA GOLF
Under Castle Vilalba, in a privileged environment surrounded by mountains and courses, we find an 18 holes par 71 course that measures just over 6000 meters and it also has 3 training holes with a very complete practice area. This course is newly created and is ideal for players of all levels, featuring a route in which all the golf clubs on the player’s bag will be used. It is located 20 minutes from Barcelona and is easily accessible.
GOLF SANT JOAN
This course has 18 holes, elapses between forests of Pines, in a terrain with great slopes, making it highly technical and forcing the experienced player to deploy his best game. Physically it is very demanding and it is recommended to play with a buggy. The designer Severiano Ballesteros developed in 1994 a course fully integrated with the environment, leaving his personal stamp on each of the holes.
CLUB DE GOLF MASIA BACH
Designed by Jose Maria Olazabal in 1990, consists of two distinct routes of 18 and 9 holes. This Club is a challenge for every player, with gaps in almost every hole it requires the player to think and constantly raise the best strategy. Proof of this is that in the year 2007 this course was the location for the World Ladies Match Play. This splendid course under the mountains of Montserrat has an attractive and well cared design, and also offers multiple recreation options: a modern club house which has all kinds of sport facilities, swimming pool, tennis courts, etc… with no doubt a place to spend a fantastic golf day.
CLUB DE GOLF TERRAMAR
Terramar Golf Club is one of Spain’s most historic and traditional golf clubs. Since its inauguration in 1922, it has been remodelled several times to become what is now a very enjoyable course to play. The mild climate and picturesque setting overlooking the Mediterranean Sea make it possible to play golf throughout the year in truly pleasant conditions. Terramar Golf Club offers the following playing facilities to all visitors: an 18 hole golf course, a driving range, 2 putting-greens, 2 greens to practise chip and bunker shots, a 3 hole Pitch & Putt course. The Club House has a reception area, bar, restaurant, lounge, golf shop, locker rooms (with shower facilities), Wi-Fi area, caddie master service, all of which guarantee maximum comfort for both club members and visitors. Terramar’s main asset as a course is that it is pleasant to play. It is not extremely difficult, nor is it excessively long or too short, most of the holes are level and the few slopes that exist are not steep, but the course is nonetheless varied. Besides Sitges’s microclimate makes play possible in sunny conditions 300 days per year. As a result of the coastal location of the course, sea breezes are common, but they are very seldom intense and, in the height of summer, they help bear the heat. PORT AVENTURA GOLF
THE SOUTH COURSE (6.393 metros). Par 72 The south course runs around the edge of Salou, winding through white pine-forests, olive and honey-tree plantations. The winding and smoothly sloped course blends into the natural surroundings which makes it an attractive and varied course for players of all levels. This course guarantees a diverse game whilst offering sufficient distances for a high level of competition. The course is complimented with a practice course, two putting-greens and a chipping green, all in the surroundings of the club house. THE CENTRAL ROUTE (2.595 metros). Par 34 The central route is located on a slope that reaches up to the highest point of the grounds. The old olive fields and honey-trees have been nurtured, transported and replanted in order to maintain the original and natural landscapes of the area and give the game a unique edge. The archeological excavations that have taken place have recovered and restored structures and original slates which have been integrated into the course to give a special character which is complemented by the maintenance and recuperation of the small stone ledges that are unique to the area. This central course has 9 holes and is par 35. It is a comfortable course for players of all levels without an excessive requirement for distance. Due to its positioning it can easily be combined with the North and the South greens. THE NORTH COURSE (6.145 metros). Par 71 The North course is located in slightly sloping grounds in a spectacular setting. The area is of huge environmental interest due to its unrivaled offering of flora and fauna (especially birds and fish). The North course is incorporated harmoniously into the surrounding landscapes which are characterized by the extensive wetlands and water hazards, a rarity in the Mediterranean. This course which is par 71 and more than 6100 metres in length makes for an enjoyable and varied play which requires a technical precision and a good combination of short and long game in order to negotiate the bunkers and natural water hazards.
PGA GOLF DE CATALUNYA
PGA GOLF DE CATALUNYA Strategically situated 50 minutes from Barcelona and 15 minutes from Girona, PGA Golf de Catalunya is also less than two hours from the main European capital cities with daily connections to Barcelona and Girona Costa Brava international airports. The finest Costa Brava beaches, source of inspiration for Salvador Dalí, are just beyond the natural spaces bordering PGA Golf de Catalunya. The 36-hole PGA Golf de Catalunya (comprising the Green Course and the Red Course) was opened in 1999. Its design has attracted major international events, including the Spanish Open and the Sarazen World Open and also the main Spanish amateur competitions. PGA Golf de Catalunya has achieved the optimum golf combination with its perfect balance between the Green Course, specially designed for major competitions and discerning amateurs, and the Red Course providing constant challenges and spectacular holes to delight players of all levels. The resort also boasts the luxury 4-star Meliá Golf Vichy Catalán Hotel, situated just a few yards away from the first tee boxes on both courses. Shortly to be opened is a unique residential complex, with luxury apartments and select villas integrated into the superb surrounding countryside.
CLUB DE GOLF COSTA BRAVA
The COSTA BRAVA GOLF CLUB, is situated in Sta.Cristina d'Aro (Girona), in the heart of the Costa Brava, where the abundant and varied Mediterranean vegetation gives you a peaceful feeling. It lies only 4 Km. from the well-known inlets and beaches of Platja d’Aro and St. Feliu de Guixols, first-class tourist places, where you can find all kind of facilities for shopping and entertainment, as well as a great variety of hotels and restaurants. Easy to reach: motorway A-7 Exit 9 from Barcelona and Perpignan (100 Km), and from Girona (30 Km) via road C250. The 18 holes Golf Course, founded in 1962, was designed by Hamilton Stutt & CO. It combines a very technical first 9 holes, surrounded by pines and cork oaks, with the long second 9 holes, flat terrain with wide long fairways. The 18th hole lies close to the Club House a Catalonian Farm of 1841, and from the Club House Restaurant you have a beautiful view of the 18th green, down below. It is a private Club but Green-Fee are welcome the whole year.
GOLF GIRONA
Thanks to its geographical position, Golf Girona enjoys a privileged location, just 4 km from the centre of Girona, less than an hour from Barcelona, and an hour from the Pyrenees and half an hour from the Costa Brava and the Empordà. Golf Girona also is one of the closest courses to Girona Airport where there are many airlines that connect directly with all the main cities in Europe. It's located in the exit 6 of the AP-7 Highway, just 2 exits away from the Airport exit 8. This distance represents just 15 minutes by car. The course was designed by the prestigious architect F.W.Hawtree, who called it himself "one of my best creations". The design is perfectly adapted to the lie of the land, achieving a course that is suitable for golfers of all levels. The course recently opened its new driving range, becoming since February in one of most complete driving range in the Province. It's has lights that allow players to practice in the night when the days are shorter. It counts with 42 mats, approach and bunker area as well as a big putting green located between the driving range and the tee 1.
EMPORDÀ GOLF RESORT
The Empordà Golf Resort, which is located in the most beautiful part of the Costa Brava, enjoys a privileged location just one and a half hours from Barcelona, thirty minutes from Girona and its airport, and fifteen minutes from the best beaches on the Costa Brava, such as Aiguablava, Calella, Llafranch, Palamós, L’Escala and L’Estartit. CLUB DE GOLF PLATJA DE PALS
Está considerado uno de los más prestigiosos campos de golf de España y Europa. Inaugurado en 1966, el más antiguo de la Costa Brava, tiene un diseño típicamente británico y un recorrido Par 73.
GOLF SERRES DE PALS
It was opened in the year 2000 and was created in order to offer a first–class service for golfers from all over the world. The course has 3 different areas with gentle hillocks, pine woods and fairways between lakes. Its warm and welcoming club house is located next to Mas Gelabert, a 17th century Catalan stone farmhouse.
PERALADA GOLF
The Perelada Golf Club is an ideal course both for staging competitions and large tournaments and for enjoying a pleasant, relaxing day out. There is a magnificent par-71 round of 18 holes over 5,990 m and four tee-offs for each hole. It is fairly flat with areas of lakes, water-banks and trees, suitable for all types of player. The course was opened in 1993 and has been designated the best course on the Costa Brava several times. It received an IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) award together with the other golf courses in the Costa Brava-Girona Golf Course Association, as the best up-and-coming destination for golf 2000 in the world. Competitions and high-level tournaments are organised here, such as the Catalonia Open 95, the trials for the PGA Pre-Qualifying School and the Seniors Qualifying School. Blending in perfectly with the landscape, the conservation of the environment and care for nature is prevalent over the whole course. As you go round, you can see water birds, birds of prey and a great variety of plants, indigenous animals and other interesting species that have adapted to the environment. The Peralada Golf Club is the first golf course in Europe to be handed an environmental management certificate from the EMAS scheme of the EU for eco-management and auditing.
TORREMIRONA GOLF CLUB
A varied and complet 18-holes course. The first nine holes are technical, with narrow fairways vegetation and water (teh 5th green is on a island). The second nine more wide and completely flat give more relax to player and let him appreciate the marvelous views over the landscape. This Championship Golf Course Par 72 is a fair one, when the beginners and advanced golfers are may satisfy their challenges. The course also contains a comfortable hotel-relais, plus house and apartments to rent. Required / Handicap 36 Services: Open all year, locker room, snack bar, rental of clubs and golf cars. Golf shop, children's nursery. Bunker, putting, approaching area. Driving range 350m. Two positions and 3 practice holes. How to get there by road: AP-7 motorway, exit-4, or A-2 highway to Figueres. CLUB DE GOLF D'ARO-MAS NOU
The Golf-Course “Golf d'Aro - Mas Nou” was built in 1990. The Architecture of this Golf course has been designed by D. Ramón Espinosa. In 1992 this course was honoured with the “European Society of Golf Course Architects”. As the best European Golf Course Club Golf d'Aro - Mas Nou - is one of the olders golf courses of the Costa Brava, (Platja d’Aro) is situated in "Les Gavarres" mountains, at 300 m above sea level with spectacular panoramic views of the famous Costa Brava. The course is a woodland course, surrounded by pines, cork oaks and more than a thousand olives Trees. Two artificial lakes (2600 m3) complete the unique course charm. At 90 km from Barcelona, 35 km from Girona and 100 Km from the French border. From Barcelona, take the motorway AP-7 to Girona and leave it at exit 9 (Costa Brava). Follow the national road (N-II) to Platja d´Aro Nord exit, then you will see a little church up on your right side. Take this road following the signs “Golf d´Aro” to the up of the mountain. From Girona, take the national road (N-II) (Vilobí d’Onyar, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, Santa Cristina d’Aro and Platja d’Aro), to Platja d´Aro Nord exit, then you will see a little church up on your right side. Take this road following the signs “Golf d´Aro” to the up of the mountain.
